By Titus Atondu, Makurdi

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Tersoo Kula, has refuted allegations made by David Olofu, a former Commissioner of Finance, that Governor Alia directed the Idoma Traditional Council to remove his name from the list of illustrious Idoma sons to be honored with chieftaincy titles.

Kula denied the claims, stating that the Governor had no involvement in the matter and that the allegations were baseless.

Kula also described the allegations as false, unfounded and blackmail fashioned to demeaning the office of the governor.

This was contained in a statement signed by Kula Tersoo, Chief Press Secretary and made available to Nigerian NewsDirect, explained that Governor Alia does not in anyway dictates for traditional rulers what they should and what they should not do especially as regard confinement of awards, titles and the rest of them on their subjects.

The CPS further explained that the governor has a lot on his hands as regards the affairs of this State than to go and dabble on such frenzy issues that borders on Chieftaincy titles.

He maintained that the governor does not regulates Chieftaincy Affairs up to the point of deciding who should be honoured or not.

“This is a stake blackmail and those who are doing this should distance themselves from this evil mechaniztion of theirs.

“The Governor is a priest and does not hate anyone. He is a Govemor for all including those in PDP, APC, SDP, LP and so on.

“When you are the governor you are a father for all and that if what the governor has been doing all these while.
Let me tell you, if that allegation is actually coming from Olofu himself them it means there is something wrong with his senses. Except if he is in possession of any document or evidence that HE actually communicated to the traditional rulers of Idoma extraction calling on them to extract his name. This is not true and that blackmail has to stop.” Kula cautioned.
