The Olota of Otta, His Majesty, Oba Professor Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege celebrated his 5th year anniversary of his ascension to the throne of his ancestors in grand style.
The palace of the Olota of Ota became a mini-pilgrimage centre yesterday, May 10, 2023 as top government functionaries, politicians, royal fathers, businessmen and women, socialites, society women and corporate individuals stormed Ota to felicitate with him on his 5th coronation anniversary and laying of E- library foundation.
The event was filled with top politicians; former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo; the Speaker of Lagos House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; Ogun State Governor, represented by Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele among others and A-list royal fathers across the length and breadth of the country.
Also, the 21st Olota of Otta who is a Professor of Mass Communication and a liberal-minded intellectual with records of unblemished feats said the 5th coronation gives him a great joy.
The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Naimot Salako- Oyedele who is also the Chief hostess of the event welcomed all dignitaries and described Obalanlege as a Champion of Peace.
She also thanked the Ogun State and Ado – Odo Ota for their support during the governorship election that reinstated she and her principal (Dapo Abiodun)
In her words, “On behalf of the Governor, I congratulate Oba Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege, the second Arole of Iganmode on his 5th year coronation anniversary as the oba, Olota of Ota, Awori kingdom and the planning committee that has made the event a success.
“I thank God for the peace and growth of the kingdom since he (Obalanlege) ascends the throne.
“We appreciate the good people of Ogun State and Ado Odo Ota in general for this second term mandate.”
However, the Chairman of the E- library project, Chief Temitayo Idowu disclosed how the library will serve a purpose for all students.
According to him, “E-library will help develop student in the primary, secondary, tertiary institution and Post- graduate student in the areas of research and would also help them in finding journals.
“ You don’t need to be in the library before you can read books, it will have many books.
“I pray that the Olota will continue to have good health and long life in driving the community progress.”
In a related development, Obalanlege also installed Chief Olayiwola Waliu Taiwo as the new and first Aare Ona Kakanfo of Ota Awori – Kingdom.
Many well wishers came to felicitate with the new Aare Onakankafo as part of the development of Ota Awori people.
