Olorunda Chairman warns against environmental degradation

The Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde (SAMOLA) has cautioned residents, traders and shop owners against indiscriminate dumping of refuse in gutters, drainages, unauthorised places and other environmental degradations.

Hon. Olatunde disclosed this when he led the Council officials to some markets in Agbokejoye, Oko-Afo, Ilogbo-Eremi  to commence intensive sanitation and drainages evacuation exercises to address unhygienic state of water channels in the areas.

He lamented that, “The State Government directive to sanitise our business places on every Thursday morning before commencement of commercial activities is for the benefit of everyone, but it is sad and disheartening that many do not comply.

“This administration will no longer tolerate such costly defiant practices, as defaulters will be held accountable henceforth,” he added.

He, however, appealed to the traders and residents to complement the government’s efforts to provide clean and healthy environment.
