The newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, Mr Olatunji Disu on Wednesday assumed office officially.
On arrival at the Police Headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, he inspected a Guard of Honour, conducted by officers of the Command.
He was thereafter taken round the entire complex by other senior officers of the Command.
Fielding questions briefly from journalists, the new CP said, “I know the terrain and the people and I am prepared to partner with the people to keep Rivers State free from crime.”
The 45th Commissioner of Police in the State had served in Rivers in the past in different capacities, so he truly understands the terrain and the people.
He took over from CP Emeka Nwonyi, following a recent redeployment exercise across the country.
