A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Mr Olarenwaju Amos Babatunde has alleged threat to life, saying his life is in danger and urged security agents in the state to save him.

Olarenwaju who is a loyalist of APC, said his life is now in danger since he has been receiving strange calls from unknown sources.

He said he has been receiving threats in recent times, that he received several phone call threats from unknown individuals.

“I don’t know why in recent times I am being trailed by faceless individuals for unknown reasons. I have never involved myself in any act of political thuggery nor have a criminal history. I received threathening calls on 27th March, 2023 and 7th and 9th of April, 2023 respectively.”

Recall that during March 18, 2023, Governorship and State House of Assembly election when suspected political thugs stormed Okerewe ward II, polling unit 6 and disrupted election process, where many people sustained various degrees of injuries, an Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) adhoc staff, Mrs James Funke was not spared and Ilode ward Councilor Folasade  Adegoke were injured.

Olarenwaju said he could only recollect the role he played during the period was taking those two injured to the hospital for treatment in company of other Party members.

He noted that the matter was reported at the police Station, Aganhun division, where Inspector Akin Ojudale, who is the Investigator Police Officer took up the matter in a way that can be described  as one of the  best practices in discharging police duty.

The APC stalwart stressed that every time he received the strange call, he was always being accused of holding secret meetings with unidentified individuals to scuttle proposed swearing-in of the elected House  of Assembly members PDP, which he knows nothing about.

He, therefore, called on security agents to save him from threats to his life, investigate and bring the perpetrators to book to serve as deterrent to others. Olarenwaju said his life is being threatened by faceless individuals in the society.
