Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesman, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his brilliance and composure during his maiden media chat on Monday, December 23, 2024.
The much-anticipated session marked a key moment in the president’s engagement with the Nigerian people, showcasing his ability to tackle critical national issues with confidence and clarity.
In an exclusive interview with journalists on Wednesday, Okupe expressed admiration for Tinubu’s performance, describing the president as “bold and brilliant” and “d**n good” in his handling of complex matters.
“I watched the media chat closely, and I must say President Tinubu was impressive. He demonstrated a clear grasp of national issues, from the economy to governance and corruption,” Okupe said. “This is a man who knows his stuff, and I can say that as someone who worked with two former presidents.”
Okupe further applauded the president’s media team for their successful execution of the broadcast, which was aired on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
He added that Tinubu’s expressiveness and depth during the discussion were notable, highlighting his readiness to confront Nigeria’s most pressing challenges.
The media chat, which took place at Tinubu’s Lagos residence, addressed key topics including the removal of fuel subsidies, tax reforms, governance size, and the fight against corruption. The session was seen as a major step in building trust with the Nigerian people, offering insight into the administration’s stance on various issues.
“This was a comprehensive dialogue, and Tinubu’s performance showed he is not just a politician, but a leader with vision,” Okupe added.
