The “Football Talent Hunt” players who are currently in Europe for trials sponsored by the management of Ojokoro Local Council Development area (LCDA), have begun to shine and making Nigeria proud in the trials matches they have played so far. The players who departed Nigeria for Ukraine during the weekend was accompanied by the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. Hammed Tijani.
The team played two friendly matches with two ‘selected’ different teams in Ukraine, with the first match played on Wednesday ending 4 – 2 in favour of the Nigerian young players, while the second game ended in 1 – 1 draw.
Meanwhile, the team will play a ‘proper trial match’ with an Ukrainian league club side. Reports from the team’s camp in Ukraine indicated that the players have fully adapted to the weather conditions in the Country and they are all medically fit for the trial matches they are billed to play in Europe.
The Ojokoro Council boss, Hon. Tijani, who has been following the team’s activities in their training camp in Ukraine, disclosed in an interview that he was really impressed with the performances and conducts of the players in their training camp, both on and off the pitch, since they arrived in Ukraine
With the impressive performances of these talented young players so far, it is hopeful that they are likely to get good contracts by professional football teams in Europe, which will justify the huge amount of money and efforts invested in the “Football Talent Hunt” programme organized last year by the Hon. Tijani led administration in Ojokoro LCDA.
