Nigeria’s oil and gas EPCIC giant, Oilserv and its sister company, Fraizimex, have both received the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) seal of Quality Certification.
This came on the heels of rigorous and transparent audit conducted by PETAN in partnership with Bureau Veritas, which saw Oilserv Limited and its sister company; Frazimex Engineering Limited received the Seal of Quality.
According to PETAN, “Being amongst the first companies to achieve the PSQ certification is a validation of both companies as an elite category of companies recognized for best practices, professionalism and quality service delivery in the energy sector.”
The PETAN Seal of Quality is a standard introduced by the association to eliminate incompetent service providers who do not meet the quality requirements set out by PETAN, and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry. In other words, it is a recognized certification aimed at raising the bar on quality service delivery and checking the rising incidence of companies executing contracts that they do not have experience and competence for.
Stressing on the importance of the quality certification, PETAN stated, “The PSQ Certification initiative is a welcome development that will leverage on proven Nigerian companies in terms of quality services. This will in turn help grow capacity in-country that can be used in any part of the world. Indeed, the days of briefcase companies are over.”
