O’HIS Boss charges politicians, monarchs to invest in their people’s health

Politicians and Monarchs in the State of Osun have been enjoined to invest in the health of the vulnerable in their various communities, emulating the good examples of the State Helmsman, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola and his Deputy, Mr Benedict Alabi.

This admonition was given by the Executive Secretary, Osun Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Adeniyi Oginni while fielding questions on a radio programme sponsored by the Agency.

Dr. Oginni disclosed that Governor Oyetola had released the sum of N477million equity grant meant for the vulnerables’ population premium; while the Deputy Governor had personally registered 300 less privileged in Irewole/Ayedaade communities, paying over N3million for their premium.

While calling on royal fathers in the state to emulate this humanitarian gesture, the OHIS boss also applauded two traditional rulers in the State for their concern over the plight of their subjects’ health.

He recalled that on 26th December 2019, Aleki of Ileki-Ijesa, Oba Adekunle Adeonipekun Bepo paid N120,660 Individual plan premium for 10 aged people in his town at N12,066 per person, while the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba AbduRasheed Olabomi had also registered 10 of his Chiefs on O’HIS Individual plan.

Dr Oginni also took advantage of the radio live programme to enumerate additional benefit enjoyed by O’HIS enrolees aside from normal benefit packages which are not available in other Health Insurance Scheme, advancing that O’HIS enrolees are treated as “Kings” and “Queens” by their Health Care Providers.

“O’HIS enrollees can access care in any part of Nigeria but only on the emergency; O’HIS Card lost or damaged can be replaced within 2weeks; instalment payment is allowed for those who couldn’t pay once; referral services are enjoyed by enrolee whose HCP cannot handle his/her medical care to the higher facility; only 10% cost of drugs administered after treatment is paid, among others,” the Executive Secretary explained.

Dr Oginni further enjoined all residents of Osun State who haven’t registered with O’HIS to key into the Scheme, saying as an enrolee you start receiving standard, quality and affordable healthcare services without financial stress.
