Ogun TESCOM set to promote over 12,000 teachers 

Ogun State Government says it has commenced interview exercise for the promotion of over 12,000 teachers in the state.

The Board Chairman, Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mr Olalekan Ifede stated this while speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Ijebu-Ode.

Ifede noted that the promotion would motivate the teachers for better performance.

He expressed satisfaction with the ongoing process, advising teachers to be confident when responding to questions being asked by the interviewers.

“The state government is ready to promote all of you, but you should reciprocate the benevolent gesture towards your upliftment.

“This is by imparting quality knowledge on students and ensuring you make positive contributions to academic excellence,” he said.

The TESCOM board chairman, admonished the teachers not to limit themselves to their specialisation, rather be acquainted with other professional fields.

He said that it would help boost their confidence and enhanced their career progression.

“Do not forget that your students will imitate you, because you are role models and symbols of emulation,” he added.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Commission, Mr Johnson Odeyemi, said that it was imperative for teachers across all levels to go through the interview process.

Odeyemi explained that the exercise would enable them appreciate the value of getting to the top level of their careers.

Some teachers who spoke to journalists commended the present administration for its generosity since assumption into office, assuring that they would work hard to improve the academic performance of their students.
