The  Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon  Olakunle Oluomo has expressed concerns over the non-compliance by some residents of the state to Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Health Protection Regulations 2021 recently signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Hon Olakunle Oluomo has therefore directed the  Ministries of health and environment to redouble their efforts towards ensuring that the people of the State comply with safety protocol on COVID-19 in line with the State Executive Order on precautionary measures, especially at public places/gathering including markets.

The Speaker admonished residents to observe the stipulated guidelines towards containing the spread of the deadly disease through observance of social distance and usage of nose masks amongst others.

In another development, Speaker Oluomo has charged the Committee on Education, Science and Technology to liaise with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on modalities towards ensuring the effective utilization of the Model Schools constructed across the 20 Local Government Areas in the State.

He gave the directive while responding to the presentation of the member representing Ijebu-East State Constituency, Olusola Adams, who reported the invasion of the model school situated in his constituency by burglars, who went away with valuable school materials, just as hoodlums had turned the facility to a hideout to perpetrate crimes.
