Ogun state police command has arrested 39yr old woman, Iwuagwu Onyinyechi defrauding a church based organisation, MIA enterprise to the tune of N100M under the pretence of assisting the organisation to raise fund for its charity programme.

According to a release from the command’s spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the arrest of the suspect followed a petition written by the Lagos based lawyer of the organisation, Barr.  Godswill Ojakovo to the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State where he complained that his client was defrauded by the suspect through an act of forgery.

The suspect who claimed to have gotten a Local Purchasing Order (LPO) from a company known as Location 3 Properties and appealed to MIA organisation to fund the LPO,  consequent upon which the sum of N33, 118, 000 was transfered online to her.

Barr. Ojakovo alleged further in the petition that as soon as Iwuagwu got the last payment in September 2018, she disappeared into thin air. This prompted the church to make discreet enquiries about the LPOs submitted and found out that all the LPOs were forged ones.

Acting on the petition, the Commissioner of Police Ogun State,  Cp Ahmed Iiyasu directed the monitoring team to go after the suspect and bring her to book. The team technically tracked the suspect and got her arrested on 21st of January 2019.

On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the  commission of the crime. She admitted that all the LPOs presented by her were all forged as most of the companies where she claimed to have gotten the LPOs were only imaginary.
