Hon Ladi Adebutu representing Remo federal constituency at the House of Representatives and front line PDP gubernatorial aspirant for Ogun State in the coming 2019 elections has denied ever contemplating to leave PDP saying that the opposition party is geared than ever before to return to the seat of power in the state in 2019.
Hon. Adebutu stated this while clearing the air over the rumored plan to leave his party following the recent appeal court judgement in Lagos which affirmed the leadership of Bayo Dayo led executives of the party as against his own faction of the party under the control of Hon. Sikirulahi Ogundele.
The implication of this according to analyst is that Adebutu might eventually lost out in the bid to clinch the party’s ticket since Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in accordance with this latest court judgement will now be force to recognise only the list of the party’s candidates submitted by Bayo Dayo led executives of the party.
Hon Semiu Babatunde, one of the aides to the PDP governorship aspirant in a chat with our Correspondent  during the week has however put a lie to this rumored defection plan saying that such idea only existed in the imagination of those peddling it.
Hon. Semiu Babatunde explained that this was a matter that had been long settled by the supreme court that the convention of a party has the power to dissolve its executives.
He added that it was on this basis that the erstwhile Caretaker Chairman of the party, Sen. Ahmed Markarfi regained the leadership of the party from Sen. Alimodu Sheriff after which the convention of the party dissolved executives of States with parallel leadership such as Ogun and about 10 others.
Hon Babatunde revealed that it was after this dissolution that a caretaker committee set up by the national leadership of the party organised the state congress which produced the incumbent Hon . Sikirulahi Ogundele led executives of the party.
He said that Bayo Dayo led executives of the party was only chasing shadow querying while the national leadership of the party led by its Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus during his recent visit to the state avoided his leadership like a leprous hand.
He disclosed further that “ we are really not losing sleep over the appeal court judgement and all the teeming members of PDP and supporters of Hon. Ladi Adebutu’s governorship ambition are as resolute as ever that this is a divine project that is destined for fruition in 2019. We are on the side of the law and we are already challenging this judgement at the Supreme court. Very soon, the truth will be clear for all to see. It is really nothing to worry about”.
