Ogun paves way for Nigeria’s industrial future —Shippers’ Council Boss

…Commends Abiodun’s infrastructural development

The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Barrister Ukeyima Akutah, has stated that Ogun State is at the forefront of Nigeria’s industrial revolution, thanks to its remarkable performance in the Ease of Doing Business Index. According to Akutah, the state is leading the way in the ongoing transformation, which aligns with the policy agenda of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration to modernise the production system and drive industrialisation for increased prosperity and job creation.

He further emphasised that the efforts of the Ogun State Government in advancing infrastructural development have significantly bolstered industrial growth, complementing the Federal Government’s initiatives for sustainable transformation.

Akutah made these remarks on Monday while leading a delegation from the Nigerian Shippers’ Council to the Governor’s office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. The delegation, which included directors and heads of units from the agency, also presented an Outlined Certificate of Compliance to the Governor for the Inland Dry Port located in Papalanto, a project recently inaugurated by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola.

The Shippers’ Council boss commended Governor Abiodun for his commitment to advancing business activities in the state by prioritising critical infrastructure development. He said, “We commend you and your team for being consistent with infrastructural development across all sectors of the state’s economy. Notable among these infrastructures are the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport and the Inland Dry Port, for which we are presenting its Certificate of Compliance today.”

Akutah added, “Clearly, you have demonstrated capacity and quality leadership by all standards. Ogun State is spearheading the ongoing industrial revolution in Nigeria, as envisioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

In response, Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun expressed his appreciation to the delegation for their visit and for presenting the Certificate of Compliance, marking a significant milestone in the development of the Papalanto Inland Dry Port.

The Governor described the port as a key initiative designed to decongest Lagos Ports and boost industrial activity in Ogun State, which has the highest concentration of industries in Nigeria. He further explained that the Inland Dry Port, as part of his administration’s Multi-modal Transportation System, would serve as an efficient mechanism to support the industrial revolution championed by the Federal Government.
