Ogun Judicial Enquiry on land allocation seeks petitions from aggrieved parties

Ogun Judicial Commission of Enquiry on illegal land allocation and documentation through its Secretary, Mr. James Olubankole Mafe has called for submission of memoranda from concerned parties, agencies and other interested persons.

The Judicial Commission of Enquiry was inaugurated by Gov. Dapo Abiodun on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, to review all land allocations and documentation, as well as various illegal land dealings in the state

Mr James Mafe said 10 hard copies of type-written petitions in 14 font sizes and double-spaced should be transmitted to the Commission, while a softcopy of the same should also be forwarded to the Commission E-Mail address- ogunjudcomlands @gmail.com not later than Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

The Secretary added that the petitioners may either appear physically or virtually depending on the circumstances or be represented before the Commission during its public hearing to orally support the memoranda, saying such petitions should include; names, addresses, contact phone numbers, and emails of the petitioners and witnesses should be included if any.

He stated that the Commission was not set up to witch-hunt anybody but to unravel the circumstances surrounding rampant illegal land transactions in the State and to identify and unravel all illegal land transactions that have taken place from June 1, 2011 to date, as well as identify all perpetrators involved in any discovered illegal land transactions.

Mafe further stated that it was imperative to receive and investigate general complaints from the public surrounding land acquisition and documentation in the State, saying a recommendation to curb bottlenecks, delays, and corruption in land acquisition and documentation would be discussed.

He said any other suggestions and recommendations that would assist the State Government in all other related matters would be attended to, noting that the dates of the public hearing would be communicated to the parties.
