Ogun govt gives N85.5m grants to CDAs for self help projects

In a bid to further enhance developmental projects in  all community areas  across the 20 local government areas, Ogun State government has released the sum of N85.5 million as Grants- in Aid to Community Development Associations as well as its Council.

Speaking at the event held at Abeokuta, the state capital, marks, Gov. Dapo Abiodun who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Shuaib Salisu said, the grant would aid the proposed self help projects in the various benefitting communities across the state.

Gov Abiodun urged all CDAs to allow  for peaceful co-existence among themselves, pledging that, government would not relent in its efforts at ensuring maximum support for the associations.

The Commissioner for Ministry of Cooperative and Community Development, Hon Ganiyu Hamzat  who highlighted the procedures for the disbursement said,400 Community Development Associations had been considered to receive the grants in the first batch while subventions would be disbursed to 300 Area Community Development Committees, 20 Zonal Community Development Committees, 3 Senatorial Community Development Committees as well as the State Community Development Council which is the apex body.
