The Ogun State Government has dismissed a misleading write-up circulating on social media, titled “New twist in Ogun State re: #whereisourmoney?”
The government described the allegations as “entirely unfounded, mischievous, and merely contrived to tarnish the good image of the Governor Dapo Abiodun Administration and officials of the Ogun State Government.”
The write-up claimed that the state Accountant General and five others were invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged diversion of Local Government Funds. It also listed several areas of interest for investigations, including payments for projects and alleged diversion of palliatives.
The Ogun State Government stated that the allegations are “a laughable hatchet job” and “a figment of the imagination of the purveyors.”
It emphasised that the administration has been diligent, transparent, and accountable with the state’s finances.
Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, urged the public to disregard the write-up, calling it “mere fabrication intended to impugn the integrity and reputation of the Governor and his Administration.”
