Ogun Govt approves resettlement for seven communities in Agbara/Igbesa

Bankole Taiwo, Abeokuta

Ogun State government has given approval of 36 hectares of land to seven communities after several years of agitation for community expansion.

The communities are: Iperin, Idoluba, Idoluboti, Titito, Adedigba, Idashe and Iludofin for resettlement within Ogun State Property and Investment Coporation (OPIC) Estate in Agbara/ Igbesa.

Speaking at the handing over of the Ifekowajo resettlement Scheme – Survey Plan to the benefiting communities in Abeokuta, the Special Adviser and Managing Director, OPIC Arc. Abiodun Fari – Arole said the purpose of the approval would prevent further encroachment by land grabbers  known as ‘Omo onile’ on State government land as well as preserving government assets.

Fari- Arole stated that it would also generate more revenue into  government coffers through land ratification, land use, neighbourhood service charges, building plan approval, perfection of tittle documents among others by intending buyers in the settlement, enjoining members of the  communities to ensure peaceful coexistence with one another.

In his remark, Oba Olodan of Odan Abuja Sule, Oba Tesilimi Ayinla said the people of the area would continue to support the Prince Dapo Abiodun’s led administration,  promising to be in unity.

Speaking on behalf of representatives of the benefiting communities, the Chairman Expansion Committee Hon. Saheed Badmus appreciated the Governor for the gesture  and the ongoing road construction in the area.
