The Present administration in Ogun State led by Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured that the administration would continues to investing in healthcare system and upgrading of the health sector especially at the grassroots setting where it has direct impact on the masses.
The stament was made by the Chairman Ogun State Alternates Health Care Board, Chief Nurudeen Adeleye while declaring open a one-day workshop for the Ogun State National Mission Birth Attendant and Health Workers Association of Nigeria , held at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Coorps College, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta.
The Chairman who was represented by the Executive Secretary of the Alternates Health Care Board, Dr. (Mrs) Kafayat Lawal at the programme tagged: “Current Trends in Antinatal Care , Labour and Child Delivery,” said the present administration will not relent in its stride to bring quality and affordable health care service to people’s doorstep.
Chief Olaleye said its agency was created as part of the Present administration on board Passion for the general wellbeing of the people living in the state and streamline the state of Alternates Health care used especially eradication of child mortality rates at the grassroots level.
In his words, “This agency is not created to condemn or criticize any of the existing group of the practitioners rather to bring all of you together under one umbrella of the agency’s control with registration that will help government to create a data base for you and individual registration number as a means of identification, to guide and streamline yuor activities that would help to discover the real practional from quacks.
“We are here to support you with all the necessary supports like time to time training and re -training, operational guidelines in modern ways , exposing you all to international standard operations and building a strong relationship with the medical practitioners in their locality and let me remind you that all of this can only be achieved if you cooperate with us by complying with government directives through the agency.”
In her welcome address by the National President of the Association , Reverend ( Dr.) Elizabeth Quadri , welcomed the Chairman State Alternates Health Care Board and other officials of the agency to the training said they have no doubt about the support of government of the day for their operations in the state because they had not been having it as good as this, that they are now directly attached to a department, and assured that their association will be totally complying with all government directives.
She commended effort of the governor of the State Prince Dapo Abiodun for his ingenuity to establish the Alternates Health Care Board at ensuring general wellbeing of the people of Ogun State , appealing to governor to give the board all the necessary support and requirements needed to discharge its goal of establiment responsibilities.
