Ogun gets five new Perm Secs

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the appointment of Mrs. Adejumoke Oluwatoyin Adewole and Mr. Bernard Olanrewaju Ogunyinka as permanent secretaries in the Public Service of the State.

The Governor had earlier in April, approved the appointments of Mr. Augustine Adekunle Oyesanwen, Engr. Olanike Olawunmi Ogunbona, and Mrs. Arinola Nusirat Adetayo, as permanent secretaries.

According to a statement by the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, on Thursday, the appointments were made by the Governor with due recourse to the provision of Section 208 (c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and having considered merit, professionalism, inclusiveness and seniority in the Civil/Public Service of the State.

Onasanya added that the appointees were carefully selected from the pool of Directors who were successful in the Ogun State Pipeline Leadership Development Programme conducted for top management level officers to be eligible for appointment into the position of permanent secretaries in the State civil/public service.

Prior to her appointment, Mrs. Adewole was on the post of Director (State Counsel), GL. 17 serving as the Director of Public Prosecutions in the Ministry of Justice.

She holds a Bachelor of Law, LL.B (Hons.) from the University of Lagos, Akoka in 1989 and Barrister at Law Certificate (B.L.) from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos in 1990.

Mr. Ogunyinka was on the post of Director (Information), GL. 17 in the Ministry of Information and Strategy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (Combined Honours) in English and Yoruba Languages from the Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye in 1989 and Master of Arts (M.A.) in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan in April, 1998.

Meanwhile, all five permanent secretaries would be sworn-in on Friday by Governor Abiodun at the State Executive Chamber, Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta by 11:00 am.
