Ogun former governorship candidate, Paseda directs supporters to join APC

Two-time former governorship candidate of Ogun State, Otunba Rotimi Paseda who  contested under the Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN and the Social Democratic Party, SDP in 2015 and 2019 respectively, has directed all members of his structure across the 36 states in Nigeria to join the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Sources said Otunba Rotimi Paseda through the National Secretary of UPN, Alhaji Abubarka Abdulahi Sokoto has  instructed all UPN members and structures in all the 36 states to start aligning with APC immediately, for an inclusive support and teamwork with the ruling party ahead of 2023 general elections.

Specifically, Paseda was said to have directed his group to start aligning tactically with the structure of the former Governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, both locally and at the national level, as they become active within Ogun APC.

The Omu Ijebu born politician was said to have built a massive UPN structure nationwide prior to 2015 general elections and has loyal party members in the 36 states, which were also used to hijacked the Ogun SDP governorship ticket in 2019

It will be recalled that Paseda had decamped to APC on the insistence of his followers to lead them to the party, following his registration by his ward chairman, Idowu Osunkoya at his Ward 14, St. Paul Polling Unit 3, Itale, Omu-Ijebu, Odogbolu Local government, Ogun state.

Paseda has however reiterated that the philosophies of APC aligns with his own and that of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and promised to work with the party at all levels.
