A former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State, Hon. Bukola Olawale Olopade has declared his support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential ambition and re-election of Gov. Dapo Abiodun of the All progressive Congress (APC) in the 2023 general election.
Olopade revealed this during the 4th edition of Bukola Olawale Olopade Movement (BOOM) empowerment programme for various groups and associations which include market men and women artisans, aged across the 15 Wards in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the State.
Olopade urged well meaning Nigerians to lend arms to government through provision of basic amenities and empowerment to people as government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of satisfying the yearnings of its citizens.
He said Yoruba land should reciprocate the good gestures of Tinubu particularly for his ability to build human with high profile and integrity, while urging the South West indigenes to give their total support to Tinubu’s aspiration.
He said that the present administration led by Prince Dapo Abiodun has shown commitment to the people of Ogun State through the provision of good infrastructural development, world best standard agricultural initiative, as well as completion of almost 95 per cent of all abandoned projects of the immediate past administration in the State.
Olopade said that the cargo airport would be completed by this December by Abiodun which would generate 5,000 direct and 5,000 indirect jobs.
He also disclosed that arrangements had been concluded at the Federal level that the 2024 National Sport Festival would be hosted by the State, stating that the positive economic effects of the festival would be felt across the nooks and crannies of the State as it would boost Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMSEs) and other businesses amongst other benefits.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of cash empowerment by Olopade to over 150 citizens of the people of Ogun State, as he also promised to sponsor two siblings of the late Pastor Oloyede to university level while other three siblings were empowered with different equipment that are relevant to their various skills of interest.
One of the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme, Mr. Akinsola Ibrahim said the cash empowerment would go a long way to boosting his business, urging other well meaning individuals in the society as well as politicians to emulate the good gesture of Olopade by extending such hands of love to the less privileged and their immediate constituents.
