Ogun Assembly summons three over land grabbing

As parts of its quasi-judicial functions, the Ogun State House of Assembly on Wednesday, commenced a fact finding investigation on the allegation of land grabbing activities against some individuals alleged to be engaging in illegal sales of landed properties at Oke-Olobo Iyoke, Via Abule Ake in Olusegun Obasanjo Hilltop around Idi- Aba, Abeokuta.

The Assembly has therefore through its Committee on Lands and Housing led by Hon. Damilola Soneye at a meeting with the concerned individuals, summoned Sina Faneye of No. 5 Adatan Road, Ligere Compound, Isale- Ake, Abeokuta, Femi Sowunmi of Akikem Properties and Bashiru Larry, a resident of the Hilltop GRA are to appear before the State Lawmakers on Friday by 11:30 am.

Soneye, while inviting the concerned individuals during the meeting with the representatives of the Faneye, Sodiya and Obadimu Families and the Community Development Association executive members of the Olusegun Obasanjo Hilltop GRA led by its Chairman, Engr. Kayode Banjo at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, noted that their presence at the next meeting would help shed light on the ongoing land investigation by the State House of Assembly.

Soneye in company his colleagues; Oluseun Adesanya, the Minority Leader Lukman Adeleye, Yusuf Amosun and Adegoke Adeyanju, assured that the Committee would engage necessary government agencies towards verifying the authenticity of all documents submitted by both parties.

He clarified that those invited were alleged to be engaging in land grabbing activities and thus terrorising the residents of the community, and they should appear in person on the said date.
