Comr Fayomi explained that “Many are of the opinion that Maba as Hon. Dare Kadiri is fondly called should have at best been cautioned and not be visited with such reckless use of power by the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon. Olakunle Oluomo who we gathered maximised the opportunity of the minor disagreement to mobilise for the impeachment of his Deputy Speaker.

“The Speaker is said to have been looking for a way to get rid of the Deputy Speaker who he believed had been pokenosing into how he handled the finances of the assembly.

“Oluomo was said to have grown irritated by the insistence of the Deputy Speaker that he ought to be more prudent with the assembly fund, hence, the decision to pull off the rug from the feet of our brother, Hon Kadiri.

“It is our opinion that this impeachment which is just to serve the ego of the Speaker and not the overall public interest should be reversed within the next seven days or else the youths will be at the assembly to protest this disservice to our growing democracy.

“We also appeal to our father in the state, Gov Dapo Abiodun to please wade into this matter and allow justice to prevail.”
