The former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Oludare Kadiri, fondly called Maba has been suspended indefinitely by the Ward 11 of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijebu North local government area of the state.
According to a document sighted by our Correspondent and signed by the Ward Chairman of the party, Tajudeen, the Secretary, Abiodun Olanrewaju and 17 others executives, the decision to suspend Hon Oluwadare Kadiri was reached at their meeting held on Saturday, September 3 after the disciplinary committee submitted their report on the embattled lawmaker.
The statement disclosed that the general congress of the aforementioned Ward on Sunday, September 4 ratified the decision to suspend the lawmaker indefinitely.
The statement disclosed further that Hon Kadiri representing Ijebu North State constituency II comprising of Ago Iwoye, Oru, Awa and Ilaporu had been found guilty of gross anti party activities.
He was said to have hosted the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Hon Ladipupo Adebutu on August 21, 2022 pledging to rather work for his emergence as the next governor of Ogun State.
The lawmaker who had been in the eyes of the storm culminating into his impeachment as the Deputy Speaker last year, was also said to have openly vowed to work against the second term ambition of Gov Dapo Abiodun.
The party said it has found Hon Kadiri guilty of the allegation of anti party activities and is hereby indefinitely suspended.
The lawmaker is believed to be behind the current travails of the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon Olakunle Oluomo before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
The statement reads:
“After the report submitted by the disciplinary committee that investigated the anti party activities of Hon . Oluwadare Kadiri (MABA), a former deputy Speaker of Ogun state House of Assembly representing Ifelodun constituency, Ijebu North local government, Ogun state to the Ward Exco. The issue was extensively discussed.
Among the allegations leveled against him are listed below;
(1) That Hon. Oluwadare Kadiri (Maba) has been fraternizing with the Opposition party, on 21st of August 2022, Hon. Oluwadare Kadiri invited Hon. Ladi Adebutu , a PDP gubernatorial candidate and some other party leaders of PDP to his residence at Ago iwoye.
(2)At the said political meeting, the following utterances were made by Hon. Oluwadare Kadiri (Maba)
(a) That he would never work for the re election bid of His Excellency Governor Dapo Abiodun.
(b) That at this junction, the party does not matter and that he would work for his host , Hon . Ladi Adebutu a PDP Gubernatorial Candidate in the forth coming 2023 general election.
(3) Hon. Oluwadare Kadiri equally instructed his supporters to defect to other political parties.
All these allegations were considered as anti party activities which are capable of pulling the party down.C
onclusively, the nineteen out of the twenty seven Exco members unanimously agree and voted for the indefinite suspension of Hon. Oluwadare Kadiri (Maba) from ward 11 APC.
“The suspension of Hon. Oluwadare Kadiri has been ratified and affirmed by the General Assembly of ward 11 today the 4th September, 2022,” the statement concluded.
