OGSG congratulates China on 75th National Day

Ogun State government has congratulated the People’s Republic of China on its 75th National Day celebration.
The state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun extended the felicitation during an event marking the 75th Anniversary, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos, recalling that the journey of the People’s Republic of China from its early challenges as a growing nation to becoming a global leader in technology, innovation and economic power, over the past seven and a half decades, had been extraordinary.
Represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Governor Abiodun stated that the story of the nation remains an inspiring testament to the resilience, vision and hard work of its people, alongside good leadership, adding that China’s influence resonates not only in Asia but across the world.
He informed that the cordial relationship between Nigeria and China over the years was due to strong partnerships grounded in mutual respect, as well as shared economic cooperation, revealing that the state in particular, had been a direct beneficiary of the enduring synergy between the two nations, especially through numerous industrial collaborations and developmental projects across the state.
While appreciating the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Nigeria, Ms. Yan Yuqing, for using her diplomatic skills to sustain the relationship between the two countries, the governor stressed that the state remains committed to strengthening ties with People’s Republic of China, as it continues to explore new areas of cooperation in the areas of agriculture, manufacturing and technology in the state.
Earlier, Ms. Yuqing said in the past 75 years, since the founding of New China, the country’s dreams had been pursued with determination, making it the world’s second-largest economy.
She hinted that her country had successfully eliminated poverty, just as the economy was getting stronger, thereby injecting new energy into global economic recovery and cooperation, expressing optimism that the friendship between China and Nigeria would yield greater economic gains.
Also present at the occasion and extending felicitations to the Chinese were representatives of the governments of Enugu, Kogi, Lagos, Cross River and Gombe.
