OGSG calls for peace at Bode Olude-Emere
The Ogun State Government has called on disputing parties in Bode Olude-Emere, Odeda Local Government Area to maintain peace and order pending the time the issues of Baaleship and Oluwo Emere will be resolved.
Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, who said this, at a meeting with the disputing parties in his office, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, noted that evidences of court directives from the two parties over the position of ‘Oluwo’ would assist the ministry to determining next step to be taken.
The Commissioner, said the present Administration in the State is a law abiding government that would not interfere with court judgments presented by the parties, saying the seating sought to prevent unnecessary communal crisis or clashes.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun enjoined all parties in the dispute to maintain peace while the ministry work on amicable resolution on the matter.
The two contending parties appreciated the efforts of the government in calling for peace in the area and expressed the hope that government would help find lasting solution to the disputes in the area.
It would be recalled that recently ‘Emere’ Council of Chiefs in Bode Olude Emere, Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, alerted the State government and security agencies of a looming bloodbath in the community following the Baaleship tussle between Chief Lateef Kolawole Sanyaolu and Chief Jimoh Olanrewaju Taiwo.
