ODA applauds Durotoye over FG’s appointment

The Omu-Aran Development Association (ODA) has congratulated Alhaji Ali Durotoye over his appointment as Acting Director, Grassroots Sports Development at the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development (FMYSD).

A statement by Mr Olayinka Owolewa, the association’s spokesperson on Friday in Omu-Aran, Kwara, described the appointment as timely and well deserved.

Owolewa , who described Durotoye as a refined sports administrator, said the association had no doubt that he would succeed in his new assignment.

“On behalf of the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti, the Olomu-in-council, the ODA and the entire Omu-Aran community, we congratulate you on this feat.

“We believe that you have done so well in the field of sports administration, hence the reason for the elevation.

“We pray God grant you the wisdom and knowledge to succeed in this new role,” Owolewa said.

The association however advised Durotoye to allow his wealth of experience to come to bear in the discharge of his duties for sports development in Nigeria.

It was reported that Durotoye, a graduate of Human Kinectics from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ilé Ife, was until his appointment the Deputy Director, School Sports.

He holds a mMasters degree in Sports Administration from the University of Lagos and PhD in Sports Management (In view) at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
