Bankole Taiwo, Abeokuta

The founder of Omooba Obaruwa Foundation, Prince Adekunle Adebayo Ayoola has called for increased investment in Nigerian youths maintaining that doing otherwise amount to standing in the way of the much anticipated greatness of the country.

Prince Adekunle Ayoola disclosed that if no nation can be greater than its investment in the citizens, especially it’s younger ones, it’s just appropriate for the government at all levels in the country to increase their support for the development of education as this is quite pivotal to having a country we could all be proud of.

Adekunle who was represented by the Chairman of the foundation, Mr Babatunde Ayoola made this call during the prize-giving day of Baptist Primary School, Ogbogbo, via Ijebu Ode as well as Community Primary School, Iperin in Odogbolu local government area of Ogun State.

He explained that given the role of education in the development of any society, privileged individuals and corporate bodies should also join efforts with the government to provide qualitative education and other support for the development of the Nigerian youth.

Adekunle disclosed that the various interventions of his foundation are aimed at complementing all that the government is doing to provide education for the Nigerian children while also ensuring that no one is left behind.

He has therefore urged the pupils of the school and Nigerian youth as a whole to learn to stay focus, embrace hardwork and shun vices that could distract them from attaining greatness urging them to take a cue from the new world record holder in athletics, Tobi Amusan.

Adekunle said “I bet it with you many of you can become another Tobi Amusan in engineering, law, medicine, ICT, entrepreneurship, sport among others but you must decide to stay focus, you must have your goal and pursue it. Be more dedicated to making it in life, make it a battle that you must conquer and with prayers, just like the world is celebrating Tobi Amusan who is from Ijebu land like many of you, it will be your own turn too to be celebrated”.

He thereafter led the presentation of various cash gifts to the best three pupils each from Basic one to six from the two primary schools saying that the cash prizes were to reward the outstanding students for dedication to their studies while also motivating others to take their studies more seriously.

The Head Teachers of both schools, Mr A.O Talabi and Mrs E A Hassan equally charged the graduating pupils to keep their eyes on excelling in life and remain great ambassadors of their schools.

The Head Teachers equally lauded Omooba Obaruwa Foundation for its commitment towards developing the education sector urging other privileged Nigerians to also not hesitate to join efforts with the government in addressing some gaping holes in the sector.

Other dignitaries at the event are Chief Odutola Ogunleye representing Baale of Ogbogbo Ijebu, Miss Temilade Adegbesan, Chief Segun Onakoya, Prince Ademola Odugbesan, Kaakanfo of Ijebu Mushin, Mr Sesan Odukoya, Mrs Alice Odebunmi, Mr G A Odubanjo, Rev Femi Odeyemi, Mr Funso Awonuga among many other community leaders
