Oba of Benin summons village heads from suspended Enigie Dukedoms
The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, has called upon the Edionwere (village heads) and elders from various domains within the Benin Kingdom to attend a crucial meeting.
It is worth recalling that several Enigies had previously been suspended indefinitely by the palace.
This directive was issued in a statement signed by Frank Irabor, Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, on Tuesday.
According to Irabor, the village heads and elders have been invited to confer with the revered monarch.
He further explained that those from 68 additional domains—recently sanctioned by Oba Ewuare II for instigating a rebellion against the Benin traditional authority—were also included in the summons.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Oba’s Palace in Benin on Thursday, 20th March, at precisely 12:00 p.m
