Oba Akiolu distances self from Kirikiri Baale Stool

The Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Osuolale Akiolu has distanced himself from the chieftaincy issues in both Kirikiri Town in Oriade Local Council Development Area in Amuwo Odofin and Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State.

In a letter to the State Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs entitled “Re: Matters of Imposition of Baale of Kirikiri Town, Apapa and Balogun of Ojo Town, Ojo of Lagos State” and made available to Nigerian NewsDirect, Oba Akiolu said he knew nothing about allegations that the he is support of one of the Baaleship candidates in Kirikiri and Ojo town.

Oba Akiolu said that “…I believe that their Local Chieftaincy Committees of Apapa  and Ojo Local Government Areas respectively will be in a better position to treat the two matters based Honesty, Fairness, and Good Conscience.”

The monarch said he had received credible information that some people accused him of having preferred candidates, and that the issue of Baale and chieftaincy were local and that no one should drag his name and his exalted stool in the mood to achieve cheap gains.

Meanwhile, the High Chief Babalola Shabi will be celebrating three months on the throne as BAALE OF KIRIKIRI TOWN on the 24th of January at his Palace in Kirikiri Town.

High Chief Shabi was made the Baale of Kirikiri Kingdom by Oba TAOFEEK Adegboyega Akeju (Awojo the third) the Alahun Of Imoore and Apapa Kingdom. The installation was certified by the Council of Chiefs and Chieftaincy of Oriade Local Council Development Area in Amuwo Odofin Local Government.

However, some factions have been spreading rumours that Oba Akiolu of Lagos was behind one of the  Baaleship candidates in Kirikiri Town, a claim which the monarch described as false.

Meanwhile,  Oba Taofeek Adegboyega Akeju is the king that has the power to install the Baale of Kirikiri Town as he is the presiding king of the town, which was certified by all the kings and chiefs in Oriade LCDA In Amuwo Odofin.

Speaking on the letter by Oba Akiolu, the Baale of Kirikiri Town High Chief Babalola Shabi described it as a good omen and praised Oba Akiolu for his clear and neutral position on the issue, saying he is a peace-loving monarch. High Chief Shabi also expressed his happiness for the support of Oba Taofeek Adegboyega Akeju Awojo the third and the Chairman of Oriade LCDA, Hon. Ramotai, Vice Chairman, Hon. Badmus and others who contributed their quota to his successful coronation.

High Chief Shabi called on the people and residents of Kirikiri town to support him in developing the community.
