NYSC: Uphold scheme’s integrity after service year — Coordinator charges Corp members

Mr Eddy Megwa, the Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lagos State, on Monday urged corps members to continue to uphold  the integrity of the scheme even after their service year.

A statement issued by Mrs Joyce Madaki, the Assistant Director of Press and Public Relations, quoted Megwa to have given the charge while briefing the corps members on the procedure for their forthcoming passing out ceremony.

He disclosed that Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State would preside over the passing out of the 2021 Batch ‘ A’ Stream on Feb. 17, 2022 at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp at Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos State.

“ I am using this medium to congratulate and to thank all of you passing out corps members for exhibiting good behaviours and representing the NYSC well during your service year.

“While wishing you success in your future endeavours,  I implore you to remain good ambassadors of this great scheme, for your good and the nation at large,” he added.

The Coordinator said that the corps members that performed exceptionally well in their places of primary assignments might be considered for employment by such organisations.

“ I have no doubt that some corps members deployed both in some public and private organisations here in Lagos must have done well in the course of their primary assignments.

“ On that note, the company can go a little further by employing them as full staff so that they will continue in that direction rather than going back into the labour market to search for jobs,” he said.
