NYSC seeks collaboration with NSCDC to secure corps members in Zamfara
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Zamfara State Office, has sought for synergy and collaboration with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara State Command, for the protection of prospective Corps members deployed to the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by the NSCDC Public Relation Office, Mr Ikor Oche, and made available to journalists in Gusau on Monday.
According the release, the newly-posted NYSC State Coordinator, Alhaji Abdulsalam Alhasan, made the call during a courtesy visit to the Zamfara Command of NSCDC in Gusau on Monday.
The State NYSC boss who hailed the NSCDC in the area for its gallantry and security of lives and properties of citizens in the state, said that NSCDC has performed excellently well in the protection of prospective and serving Corps members deployed to the state.
He said that the Corps is an invaluable stakeholder in the NYSC Scheme, and that it behooves on him to pay a visit to the command for familiarisation and reciprocate the kind gesture offered to the scheme.
Alhasan, however, solicited for more collaboration between the Corps and the Scheme in Zamfara State.
Meanwhile, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Muhammad Muazu, welcomed the newly-posted NYSC State Coordinator, adding that his visit was apt and timely, especially at this period.
The State Commandant appraised the Scheme in the state for contributing to the national integration which is one of its sole aims.
Muazu, however, reiterated that the NSCDC, under his purview, will do everything within its powers to assist and collaborate with the Scheme towards securing lives and properties of all corps members deployed to the state.
He pledged that the Corps would always carry out covert and overt operations in order to decipher the security of every Corps members and the facilities of the Scheme in the state.
“We will encourage all Corps members to feel free as their security is guaranteed based on the synergy the Corps has enjoyed with other sister agencies.”
The Commandant therefore enjoined the State Coordinator to always approach him for any security assistance as he is always ready to accord him his requests.
