NYSC DG task corp members to be impactful in hosts communities

The Director General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed has called on the Corp members embrace projects that will be impactful to their hosts communities.

The DG made the disclosure while warning Corps Members to shun every form of misconduct throughout their service year in order to avoid being sanctioned by the NYSC Bylaws at the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream Two Corps Members at Niger State Orientation Camp in Paiko.

Ag. Director Information and Public Relations to Newsmen on Monday the DG urged Corp members to make meaningful contributions to the development of the places of their primary assignments.

He said ” I’m appealing to the Corps Members to add value to their host communities by executing projects that would make life more comfortable for the residents.”

Speaking on their core duties he stressed that there are laid down rules and regulations that guides the conduct of every Corps Member which the Scheme is not a safe abode for lawbreakers.

“NYSC bye laws would be applied on every infraction committed by any Corps Member. Be law-abiding throughout your service year. You are expected to dress in line with the approved NYSC dress code because improper dressing attract sanctions.

“As much as possible, avoid unnecessary and risky adventure that may put you in danger. Be security conscious at all times and reject the temptation of free rides”, he said.

The NYSC Niger State Coordinator, Mrs Olayinka Wahab said the Corps Members have adjusted to camp life.

She disclosed that they have demonstrated strong sense of responsibility, patriotism and commitment to the ideals of NYSC.

She also said camp officials are working as a team with Corps Members participating actively in all camp activities as good ambassadors of their institutions and families towards ensuring a successful Orientation Course.
