NYSC D-G tasks corps members on discipline, hard work, selfless service

Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Muhammad Fadah, has advised youth corps members to embrace discipline, hard work and selfless service during and after their service year.

This is contained in a statement issued by NYSC’s Director, Press and Public Relations, Mr Eddy Megwa, on Sunday in Abuja.

The statement quoted Fadah as stating this while addressing corps members during his visit to Zamfara and Katsina states in preparation for the forthcoming 2022 Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course.

He said that they should avoid a get-rich-quick syndrome in order to have a better future.

Fadah also advised the corps members not to embark on unauthorised journies and also avoid night journeys, stressing that they should be security conscious and take care of their personal safety.

“Do not travel at night and you must obtain permission from NYSC if it is compulsory that you travel,” he added.

While in Katsina, Fadah also paid a courtesy visit to the Commander, 17 Brigade of Nigerian Army, Brig.-Gen. I.A. Ajose.

He thanked Ajose for supporting NYSC in Katsina State, especially with accommodation, welfare for corps members serving at the brigade and sponsorship of activities during the orientation exercise.

Fadah solicited for more support for the scheme in future engagements, especially on corps members’ security.

Ajose, in his response, congratulated Fadah on his appointment as NYSC director-general, promising more support from the brigade for the scheme in the state.
