NSF: Abiodun hails Team Ogun medals haul

…charges athletes to win more medals, make state proud

The Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, has congratulated the state contingent to the National Sports Festival holding in Asaba, Delta State, for winning medals and doing the state proud.

Abiodun in a statement on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, said the five gold medals; two silver and bronze medals won by Ogun so far, has confirmed the state’s superiority in sporting competitons.

He expressed confidence that Team Ogun would win more medals as it has prospect of gold in boxing, badminton, gymnastics, para table tennis, deaf athletics, darts and P
para powerlifting.

While calling on the team to hold on tenaciously to the Ogun spirit of excellence and standard by continuing show class the state is made at the ongoing NSF, Abiodun said that people back home would be rooting for them to soar at the competitons.

The governor further urged the contingent to play by the rules of the sporting event, declaring that his administration would give all the necessary support to ensure Ogun finishes at the top bracket of the medal table.

He restated his administration’s commitment to the development of sport facilities and talents in the state with aim of making Ogun number one of the best in terms of sports in the country.

Abiodun, however, charged Team Ogun to continue to make the state proud at the ongoing NSF, without compromising the ‘Omoluabi’ ethos the people of the Gateway State are known for.
