NSE Ikeja branch honoured Engr Festus Akinpelu with Prestigious Award
The Nigerian Society of Engineers Ikeja branch marked their engineering week and the theme for the year event is “intergrated engineering development as a catalyst for homegrown industrial revolution.” The event took place at Sharaton hotel, Lagos on the 17th of August 2021.
Some of the distinguished guest of honour at the event was His Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor of Lagos State who was fully represented by Engr Rotimi Thomas , Honourable Minister of Interior, Engr Rauf Aregbesola FNSE who was fully represented by Honourable Bola Ilori, President, Dangote Group Of Companies Alhaji Aliko Dangote(GCON) represented by Mr Ebenezer , President Nigerian society of Engineers, Chaiman of the occasion, Engr Babagana Mohammed FNSE, Engr Chief Devakumar V.G Ewin, Director Civil Engineering Lagos State, Engr Olayinka Abdul FNSE, CEO Deefort Group, Engr Agboola Olajide Flod , Chairman NSE ikeja branch, Engr Olutosin Ogunmola ,MNSE, PMP as the host.
The keynote speech was given by Engr Adeyinka Adewunmi FNSE, who fully honoured and represented by Engr Adeoye Fadeyibi (FNSE) the MD/CEO, Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC). In his presentation he said, energy consumers are broadly categoriesed into three which are: firstly, those who use energy largely for residential purposes, secondly consumers that are of commercial and business service in nature and lastly consumers that are industrial in nature.
He furthered explained that categories are subjects to evaluation, what may be acceptable and satisfactory in each of these cases are different. While it is generally known that the provision of 24/7 power supply is the ultimate for all consumers, the quality ,consistency and reliability however plays a critical role in the different customers categories. The other major category is that of affordability, that is, cutting one’s cloth according to one size. Most recent time, the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry(NESI) has made several efforts to improve customers satisfaction consistency, reliability and quality of supply to all electricity customers irrespective of category and nature of demand. Recently, efforts include, Service based tariff SBT , National Mass Metering Programme (NMMP), Performance Improvement Plan, Emunuration and Automation.
The speaker analyses the policies that ensure consumers satisfaction using Eko Disco as case study. He said as a company customer satisfaction has been at the core of our busine activities. “We have a conscious awareness that our business growth is proportionate to the shared experiences of our customers, which is the reason we have created multiple channel to ensure visibility , accessibility and effective response and communication the channels are 24/7 call centre, walk in customer Service Centres, Dedicated Email Addresses, interactive self care portal, Social media , to hall customer engagement.
At the award presentation, one the indefatigable engineer that was honoured with award was Engr Festus Akinpelu, Managing Director/CEO of Pilot Science Company Limited, the award was announced by the NSE Chairman, Lagos branch, Engr Olutosin Ogunmola to Engr Festus Akinpelu for being one of the best partnering company. Pilot Science Company Ltd, has been described as a company that stood with NSE when there is no one, the organization step forth and prove themselve as one of the best. The award was presented by the Representative of Lagos State Governor, Engr Rotimi Thomas.
