NSCDC: Commandant tasks personnel on dedication, professionalism

The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Bauchi State, Mr. Ameh James has tasked personnel of the Corps to show greater commitment and dedication to duty.

He gave the charge while decorating 72 newly promoted officers of the Corps on Thursday in Bauchi.

He lauded the promoted officers for their commitment to duties and congratulated them on achieving the feat.

The Commandant said,”promotion only comes from God with responsibilities, hard work and selfless service.

“The promotion is based on their performances, hard work, commitment and proactiveness.”

James called on other officers yet to be promoted to ensure they put in more effort in the discharge of their duties rather than being demoralised.

According to him, the Commandant-General of the Corps, Ahmed Audi has done enough to elevate the officers to their new ranks.

He urged them to double their effort towards fulfilling the mandate of the Corps, adding that the event would be indelible in the minds of the elevated officers.

“However, if you want success, you need to be liberal and humble by being nice and compassionate to your subordinates.

“Also, you all need to increase your productivity to justify the reason you are being promoted,” he said.

Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, Mr. Daniel Gobum, Deputy Commandant of the Corps, lauded the gesture.

He said:”To whom much is given, much is expected. Promotions are additional challenges for hard work and efficiency”.

Newsmen reports that promoted officers comprises four Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC), five Superintendent of Corps (SC) and 15 Deputy Superintendent of Corps (DSC).

Others are 38 Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ACS II), nine Assistant Superintendent of Corps l (ACS I) and one Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC)
