NSCDC arrests suspect for N1.2m fraud

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)in Kano has arrested a suspect believed to be behind a job scam.
The person is accused of deceiving people by promising them fake employment opportunities within Kano State government ministries, thereby defrauding them of their hard-earned money.
The 32-year-old suspect, Mu’azu Mohammed Ibrahim, was taken into custody after a thorough investigation lasting several weeks, which involved detailed tracking and monitoring of his activities.
This was confirmed in a statement on Wednesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, on behalf of the State Commandant.
Abdullahi stated, “The suspect, Mu’azu Mohammed Ibrahim, 32, a resident of Sagagi Quarters, Kano Municipal LGA, was apprehended after several weeks of intense tracking.
“This followed complaints from individuals, predominantly women, who reported being defrauded of over N1.2 million by the suspect.”
According to him, the suspect deceived his victims by posing as a high-ranking government official capable of securing employment for them in various government ministries, departments, and agencies.
This promise turned out to be false and fraudulent.
“The investigation has been completed, Abdullahi noted, and the suspect will be prosecuted in court by the corps’ legal team.
