NSCDC apprehends Kidnapper who killed victim after ransom payment

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested a 40- year-old suspected kidnapper, Boodo Abdullahi Alhaji.

The suspect was paraded on Monday at the NSCDC state command headquarters in Ilorin, the state capital.

According to the spokesman of the Command, Ayeni Olasunkanmi, in Ilorin on Monday, the suspect was arrested at Owode via Banni in Kaiama LGA, Kwara state.

He was alleged to have joined other suspects currently in the custody of Nigeria Police, Oyo State Command to kidnap a victim in Eruwa, also in Oyo.

The suspects allegedly collected ransom from a victim’s family and still later went ahead to kill the victim.

Boodo, reportedly fled from Eruwa area but was apprehended by the men of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps at Owode via Banni in Kaiama LGA, Kwara State, the spokesman revealed.

The Command has now launched a manhunt for the other suspect who is still at large.

State Acting Commandant, JONAH GABRIEL, appealed to Kwarans to always give timely and accurate information about any suspicious movements around them to the security agencies.
