NOA to protesters : sheath your swords
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on Nigerians, especially the youth, to reconsider participating in the upcoming nationwide protest being organized by some citizens.
Mr. Abubakar Argungu, Head of the Public Relations Unit for the agency in Kaduna State, issued this appeal in a statement to the press on Wednesday in Kaduna.
Argungu emphasized that while Nigerians have the constitutional right to express dissatisfaction with government policies and programs, such expressions should be made through legal and appropriate channels.
He stressed that meaningful progress cannot be made amid chaos and anarchy, particularly noting that the current administration under President Bola Tinubu is working in the best interests of Nigeria and its citizens.
Argungu also highlighted the importance of dialogue over protests to prevent opportunistic individuals from exploiting the situation for personal or political gain, potentially causing harm to innocent people and property.
He pointed out that President Tinubu is aware of the challenges Nigerians face due to recent policy implementations, citing the allocation of 20 trucks of rice to each of the 36 states and the FCT, along with the administration’s intervention in the minimum wage issue, as steps taken to ease the burden.
Argungu urged Nigerians to remain patient, reassuring them that the current difficulties are temporary.
