…says they are fabricated lies

The Osun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC) has dismissed reports of an alleged rift between Former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the APC National Secretary, Senator(Dr) Ajibola Basiru and Engr Olalekan Badmus.

The party described the reports as rumours fabricated by two faceless groups, ‘Atunto’ and ‘Otoge’, alleging a crisis within the party over its 2026 governorship candidature.

The State Chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party’s State Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, today described the offensive stories as the handiwork of the ruling party which has become jittery in recent time due to the rising profile of the APC in the state.

Lawal explained that his party wouldn’t have dignified the embattled PDP handlers and its robotic governor with a response but it became necessary to state clearly that the two stories concerned are mere propaganda stratagem employed by the pungently bordered PDP leadership since the last visit of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, to the state and the monumental success recorded by the party during the just-concluded sensitization tours of all the 30 local government council areas and the Area Office.

Those behind the hatchet job have failed woefully in their mission to cause disaffection and rancour within the Osun APC as apart from the fact that no elections in sight in the state, Alhaji Oyetola, Senator(Dr) Ajibola Basiru and Engr Olalekan Badmus are members of the same political family who have been operating on the same page politically.

He stated that the fabricated stories which are mere products of beer parlour patronage meant to unsettle and distract the APC members and its supporters have fallen flat as it lacks credibility, truthfulness and without base.

Lawal explained that the only way that the gullible writers and publishers of the flimflam could fraudulently impress their paymasters that they are working is to take to composition writings against the opposition suspectedly at the beer parlour of the PDP chairman at an obscured location in Ilesa which has become counterproductive to their sinister motive.

In Lawal’s words: “I continue to wonder why the factional state PDP chairman, Mr Sunday Bisi and his rev-and-start Governor Ademola Adeleke and his co-travellers are always jittery at the sight and image of former Governor Oyetola, now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.

“The reason for the jittery state of the PDP stakeholders at the sight of Oyetola is not far-fetched which can be likened to how an armed robber feels when he sees his victim after operation.

“The Osun PDP and their rudderless and incompetent governor should perish the thought of the existence of any acrimony among Alhaji Oyetola and the two esteemed chieftains of our party of Osogbo extraction whose names were dropped in their manufactured stories.

“The members, leaders and supporters of our party should not panic over any devious and distractive antics that the PDP and Adeleke may be putting on our path as such would not be capable of preventing us from emerging victorious in the 2026 governorship election”, Lawal stated.
