Maj. Gen. Christopher Musa, the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), has assured that there will be no hiding place for marauding bandits, terrorists and other adversaries disturbing the peace of Nigeria.

He also assured that the Nigerian Military would go all out towards curbing all criminal elements in every nook and cranny of the country.

Musa, who made the disclosure on Friday at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, when he officially took over from Gen. Lucky Irabor (rtd), assured of the determination of the military to secure the country.

He stated that as the CDS, his promise to Nigeria is that they would continue to improve on their mandate of sustaining peace and tranquility in the country and assured every Nigerian to feel safe that the Armed Forces of Nigeria were up and doing, highly professional and were going to be there for them.

He reiterated, “Nobody should doubt our determination to bring peace to Nigeria. Anybody, especially the criminals, bandits, terrorists, anyone who thinks otherwise should be ready to face the music.”

The CDS explained that the Nigerian armed forces would come out in full force while safeguarding the citizenry.

He pledged not to take the issues of welfare of the frontline troops and entire personnel for granted, stressing that such would enable the military to get the best from them.

Speaking earlier, the former CDS, Irabor, urged Gen. Musa to ensure that the value and professional standards of the military is retained.

He said he was handing over to an officer who is tested and by all standard a model for the armed forces and appreciated the president for finding Musa very suitable to take over the reins of the armed forces.

He urged the Nigerian Military to redouble their efforts so that the cherished values and professional standard would be maintained, stressing that quite a lot had been achieved.
