NNL slam N2m, N3.5m fine on Crown, Smart City for fans misconduct

The Nigeria National League (NNL) has sanctioned Crown and Smart City FC following the unruly conduct of their fans.

Crown FC supporters failed to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner during their 1-1 draw against visiting Ijebu United at the Soun Township Stadium, Ogbomosho at the weekend.

The Ajilete Valiants will pay a fine of N2m and have been ordered to play their next three games behind closed doors.

Smart City FC fans went berserk after the centre referee sent a player off for a second bookable in the second half of their encounter with Gateway United.

The Lagos-based club were fined N3.5m and was made to forfeit three points and three goals.
