The Nigeria Association (NMA) in collaboration with Fufore Local Government Council has begun free medical and surgery outreach targeting no fewer than 1,040 patients in the council.
Speaking during the inauguration of the outreach in Fufore Local Government Area on Tuesday, Mr Usman Daware, the council Chairman appreciated the initiative of NMA for the free medical and surgery outreach.
He said the gesture would go along way to help people in the area especially the less privilege persons.
Daware pledged to also support those who were referred to the Federal Teaching Hospital and State Specialist Hospital for their recover, especially those with eye problem.
Dr Bulus Samuel, NMAs Chairman commended council Chairman and traditional leaders for their support that enable them to discharge their responsibility of complementing Government effort in the health sector.
He said that the association had mobile experts from various field to provide effective service free of charge to patients in the area.
According to him, 1,000 patients are billed for medical treatment while for 40 patients are for surgery on Hernia, Appendix, Lipomas, Fibroids among others.
Alhaji Aliyu Ahmed, District Head of Malabu appreciated for the gesture and called on the traditional and religious leaders to mobilize their subject to take advantage of the exercise.
He advised the beneficiaries to express themselves on their health condition to doctors and ensure that they used the drugs given to them accordingly for good healthcare.
Dr David Ngwan, Chairman outreach committee explained during an inspection visit to the ward that they have received 26 patients for surgery out of which five were operated on successfully.
Malam Musa Usman, a beneficiary from wuribokki community thanked the NMA for the free surgery.
