NIPOST signs partnership with eGate, Visa to enhance digital financial services in Nigeria

Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), eGate and Visa have signed a tripartite partnership to facilitate digital financial services, issuing of payment cards and support financial inclusion.

Nigerian NewsDirect gathered that the agreement was signed recently by the Postmaster General/CEO NIPOST, Dr Ismail Adewusi,  CEO of eGate, Essam El-Sagheer and the Vice President, Global Digital Partnership, Visa. VP, Alex McCrea .

Dr. Adewusi stated that NIPOST has a strategic plan to provide financial inclusion services as  part of Nigeria’s digital transformation plan.

“Today we take this plan forward by signing with eGate, one of the leaders on digital transformation and our consultant who leads our digital transformation plan and Visa, the world leader in digital payments.”

El-Sagheer said, eGate have became one of the digital transformation leader’s in Africa.

The agreement will enable NIPOST to provide digital financial services using Visa credit and prepaid cards to unbanked customer to support financial inclusion, government eService’s and no-cash society’s, to expanding the acceptance of electronic payments where Visa will provide cards payments solutions for the success of this new form of technological cooperation to meet the ambitions and requirements of the citizens of Nigeria.
