Nigerian film industry is improving its craft–Movie producer

Enugu filmmakers said the content and quality of films produced in country has improved over the years.

A filmmaker, Christian Nekwa told newsmen on Monday in Enugu attributed the improvement to innovations and new techniques.

According to him, the world being a global village, had offered more interaction and shared ideas among the filmmakers that led to an improvement.

“The quality of videos has changed for better and cinema culture improved as filmmakers strife to ensure their quality films are being showcased in cinemas.

Nekwa who is also the manager, Viva Cinema, Enugu noted that American Company, Netflix and other social platforms for movies are gradually emerging in many parts of the world.

“These platforms have contributed to the quality and content of movies produced in the country,” he said.

Another filmmaker, Uche Agbo said there were no two standards of filmmaking as countries of the world adopts same standard in filmmaking.

He explained that every filmmaker has a targeted market and for him to succeed, he researches to improve the quality of his film.

“We now have gadgets readily available and we are beginning to have new films using these gadgets.

“The international platforms such as Netflix has helped a lot as every filmmaker want his film shown in such platform and you can see Nigerian films making a difference.

“Quality cameras are now available for better images,” he said.
