Nigerian arrested for cocaine possession in India

The Police in India have announced the arrest of a Nigerian for possession of hard drugs, including cocaine.

48-year-old Paul Chukwu was taken into custody after he was caught in Maharashtra’s Thane city.

Chukwu, a resident of Nalasopara in the western part of Mumbai metropolitan region, had 32 grams of cocaine and 0.22 grams of LSD.

The cocaine and the hallucinogenic drug have a combined value of around Rs 14 (1.4 million Indian rupee).

Crime Unit V’s Inspector Vikas Ghodke said acting on a tip, a police team staked out a hotel on Ghodbunder Road.

The suspect was apprehended when he arrived with the narcotics, according to the news site Outlook.

Chukwu’s offence violates the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act; he has been booked at the Kasarvadavali police station
