Four military personnel were killed when troops from Operation Hadarin Daji were ambushed by terrorists in Bachaka Kurya Forest, Gudu Local Government Area, Sokoto State. Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday. The ambush occurred near the Nigeria-Niger border. The military reported that several terrorists were killed during the firefight, and weapons and ammunition were recovered. The statement noted that the terrorists were identified as a group from Niger Republic called Lakurawa. While four soldiers lost their lives, the remaining terrorists fled into Niger Republic, and troops are currently pursuing them.
