Nigeria vs Ghana: Christian Chukwu tells NFF best coach for Super Eagles job

Former Nigerian defender, Christian Chukwu says Augustine Eguavoen is the best-suited coach to take charge of the Super Eagles.

Chukwu called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to keep Eguavoen in the position ahead of the Super Eagles World Cup qualifying playoffs.

Chukwu, who is a former national team captain told Newsmen that Eguavoen has instilled team spirit and discipline in the Super Eagles.

“Eguavoen did great in the competition. He is still outstanding among other African coaches in the ongoing competition.

“Eguavoen has already started working with the Eagles and understands the players to a certain extent and bringing in another coach now will destabilize the team.

“The new coach will come with his own ideas, which could take the players time to understand.”

The Super Eagles crashed out of the Africa Cup of Nations to Tunisia on Sunday, ending their fine run in the tournament.

Next up for Nigeria is the World Cup qualifying playoff clash against the Black Stars of Ghana.
